UHealth Sports Medicine Concussion Update

Last Thursday evening, UHealth Sports Medicine and our UConcussion team held a pre-game concussion update seminar for local physicians, with presentations by Dr. Lee Kaplan, Chief of UHealth Sports Medicine; Dr. Gillian Hotz, Director of KiDZ Neuroscience Center and UConcussion Program, Dr. Kester Nedd, Medical Director of UConcussion Program, Dr. Michael Hoffer, Director of the Vestibular and Balance Program, and Dr. Cliff Page, Team Physician for Miami Hurricanes and part of UConcussion Program.

The presentation reviewed the mechanisms of concussion injuries, current treatment protocols, and vestibular assessments – along with a special demonstration of the I-Portal® PAS concussion detection goggles by Dr. Hoffer and his team.
